Embrace Project’s partners: Place
PLACE champions migrant-led innovation: since 2016, the France-based organization provides transformative and innovative learning experiences to newcomers and host societies, while also giving newcomers space for self-determination to find their version of power.
Why did you choose, as an organization, to join Embrace?
PLACE accelerates and leverages the innovation newcomers bring to Europe. European societies need more and more vital voices with a recent history of migration to bring their perspectives and contribute to critical sectors, which we can observe through EMBRACE as a project.
What is your role in the project ?
PLACE’s intervention will develop, in every country of the project, a core group of migrants who will be trained to own their abilities to represent others and become emerging leaders for civil society locally (representative of their communities). They will also gain experience, exposure, and credibility in public leadership to play a local role in bridging the municipality (local authorities) with its communities.
What outcomes do you expect the project to achieve?
We believe that through this project, we will be able to accelerate newcomer leadership, whereby we will be introducing new faces and voices working collaboratively to represent and support local newcomer communities in Europe.
